For the last few days I have been playing very intensively with GarageBand, Apple’s recording software. It’s been great fun manipulating myself and playing piano and keyboard strings and singing songs that I love.
But something really bad happened. It kept freezing up and I had to force quit it.
I didn’t know what had happened to my song. I was so frustrated that I couldn’t get it back.
But I could- Here’s how:
In GarageBand it saves the files as .band files which one can see the contents of by going show package contents in the context menus. To get the song back one opens the media folder and copies the Aiff files in to another project. GarageBand will combine them back together again. Clever eh?
Now to learn how to undo all those affects I didn’t want. But that’s another story.
