I read on the internet two interesting ththings–actually quite a few interesting things have been emerging over the past few days.
First there is the so-called “treaty for the blind” which, if ratified will give more access to books for those with print disabilities (IE blind or dyslexic or some other learning disability.) This is very exciting and we down at the bottom of the world are eagerly awaiting the impact.
Second, I read on a blog someplace that Amazon has purchased the Ivona text-to-speech voices. So, the blog asked, does this mean better access for Kindle? With the app for iDivices already there who knows what will happen next.
I love the kindle app. It’s great. The books are cheaper and there are more of them than on iBooks. I am reading The Finish: The Killing of Osama Bin Laden by Mark Bowden. I have wanted to read it for ages ever since I heard about it in Radio New Zealand’s summer programming last year. I had looked everywhere and finally found it on the Kindle Store. So that’s all the interesting things for today. Hope you like them.
