Was reading this book the other day. A sea story by Nicholas Monsarat, an ex-navalman during the WWII. The novel is called the cruel sea and is about a naval ship of 150 crew that set out in 1939 to catch Nazis in the Atlantic.

But the interesting thing was what was at the start of the audiobook. “Before I begin to read this book,” said the very English narrator, “I want to tell you something about it…This book is not suitable to be overheard by children and is not recommended to those readers who wish to “forget all about the war”.“

I thought what an interesting piece of history.
